Terms of Service
1. Agreement to Terms
By creating an account or using Glint, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the service.
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to create an account on Glint.
2. Description of Service
Glint is a photo and video collection platform for events. The service works as follows:
- Hosts create events and share QR codes or links with their guests
- Guests upload media through a web interface (no account required)
- Media is stored directly in the host's Google Drive
- Hosts manage events and view uploads through a real-time dashboard
3. Account Registration
- Accounts are created via Google sign-in
- You must provide accurate information
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account
- One account per person. Do not create multiple accounts to abuse the free tier.
4. Google Drive Connection
To use Glint, you must connect a Google Drive account. Glint only accesses files it creates (drive.file scope). You can disconnect at any time from your account settings. If you disconnect, new uploads will pause until you reconnect.
Glint is not responsible for Google service outages, storage limits, or changes to Google's terms. Files uploaded to your Drive are subject to Google's Terms of Service.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use Glint to:
- Upload illegal, harmful, or abusive content
- Upload copyrighted content you don't have rights to
- Upload malicious files (viruses, malware, executables)
- Use automated tools to spam uploads
- Attempt to bypass rate limits or plan restrictions
- Impersonate others or create fake events
- Use the service for any purpose other than legitimate event photo/video collection
We reserve the right to disable any event or account that violates these terms.
6. Pricing and Payments
- Free tier: 1 event, 50 uploads, 30-day access, Glint branding on the guest page
- Event Pass ($10): 1 event with unlimited uploads, 12-month access, custom QR codes, no Glint branding
- Event Bundle ($20): 3 Event Passes at a discounted rate
All prices are in USD. All sales are one-time payments, not subscriptions. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your payment details.
Prices may change at any time. Existing purchases are not affected by price changes.
7. Refunds
- You may request a full refund within 7 days of purchase, no questions asked
- Refund requests after 7 days will be considered on a case-by-case basis
- To request a refund, email hello@glint.pics with your account email and purchase date
- Refunds are processed back to the original payment method via Stripe
- Upon refund, your paid event slots will be reduced accordingly. Events exceeding your slot count will be downgraded to the free tier.
8. Content and Intellectual Property
- You retain full ownership of all content uploaded through Glint
- Glint does not claim any ownership or rights over your photos, videos, or other content
- You grant Glint a limited, non-exclusive license to display thumbnails of uploads in the host dashboard (for the sole purpose of operating the service)
- Glint's branding, design, code, and documentation are property of Vector9
- "Glint" and the Glint logo are trademarks of Vector9
9. Guest Uploads
As the host, you are responsible for obtaining guest consent to upload content through your event. By creating an event and sharing its QR code or link, you represent and warrant that every guest you invite has been made aware that their uploaded photos, videos, and messages will be transmitted to your Google Drive and that their name, device metadata, and upload timestamp will be visible in your dashboard. Obtaining this consent is solely your responsibility, not Glint's.
This includes complying with any applicable law regarding photo consent, image rights, and data protection (for example, the EU GDPR, UK GDPR, California CCPA, or local equivalents in the jurisdictions where your guests reside). Where your event takes place in the EU/UK or involves EU/UK guests, you act as the data controller for guest personal data; Glint acts only as a processor on your behalf.
- Guests upload content at the host's invitation
- The host is responsible for how they use and share guest-uploaded content
- Glint does not moderate guest uploads in real-time (we validate file types, not content)
- Hosts can delete upload records from their dashboard
- If a guest believes their content was uploaded without consent, they should contact the event host directly. Glint will assist in deletion if the host cooperates or does not respond within a reasonable time.
- Hosts processing EU/UK personal data may request a signed Data Processing Addendum (DPA) by emailing hello@glint.pics.
10. Service Availability
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee 100% uptime. We may perform maintenance with or without notice. We are not liable for data loss due to Google Drive outages, account issues, or similar circumstances. Your files are stored in Google Drive, which has its own availability guarantees.
11. Limitation of Liability
Glint is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We are not liable for data loss, business interruption, loss of profits, or any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.
Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim. This limitation applies to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
We do not warrant that Glint will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. We do not warrant the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of any content uploaded through the service. We are not responsible for the content guests upload to events.
13. Termination
- You can delete your account at any time from account settings
- We may terminate or suspend your account if you violate these terms
- On termination, your data is deleted per our Privacy Policy. Files in your Drive remain.
- Sections that should survive termination (including liability, intellectual property, and disclaimers) survive.
14. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms as needed. Significant changes will be communicated via email to all account holders. Continued use of Glint after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
15. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Canada (Province of Quebec). Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the service will be resolved in the courts of Quebec, Canada.
16. Contact
For questions about these terms, email hello@glint.pics.
